This is the G30-generation 5 Series (introduced 2017) so common diesel choices are the 2.0-litre four-cylinder (520d) and the 3.0-litre six-cylinder (530d); automatics are the ZF 8-speed boxes. Diesel BMWs of this era have DPF and EGR systems and the six-cylinder diesels also use AdBlue — these systems are fine on long runs but can give problems if the car has been used mainly for short urban trips.
