Most 2024 petrol 5 Series models use BMW’s 2.0L or 3.0L turbo petrols with an 8-speed automatic and a 48V mild-hybrid starter/recuperation system on some trims — that improves smoothness and helps stop/start function but it isn’t a plug-in hybrid.
