Spanner can help turn your car details into an advert.
Could suit you if…
- You regularly make longer journeys: diesel may fit that pattern better than a routine of mostly short trips. Compare actual running costs.
- You prefer a higher seating position: this SUV/crossover type may suit. Try getting in and out; the body shape alone does not prove extra seats or four-wheel drive.
Think twice if…
- You need room for several children or extra passengers: the seat count is not recorded. Confirm this exact version's seats and child-seat fit; do not assume from the model name.
- Most journeys are short school runs or local trips: check whether this diesel has a particulate filter and what longer runs its handbook requires.
- You are choosing based on mileage: a usable distance is not recorded here. Confirm whether this is a new/delivery-mileage car or an incomplete advert.
This is general guidance about this type of car and your needs — not an inspection or approval of this individual car.
The Tucson diesel/manual is typically aimed at higher-mileage buyers — diesel rewards motorway use but is less ideal for a lot of short city trips. Modern Tucsons have DPFs (and on some engines AdBlue), so check for regular long runs or regen history; some diesel trims offer optional AWD, which affects fuel use and costs. Manual clutch wear is the obvious service item on a 2‑year‑old example, and confirm any remaining manufacturer warranty or dealer servicing paperwork.
- DPF/regeneration history and warning-light behaviour (frequent short trips can clog a DPF)
- Clutch bite point and any slipping under load (manuals at 2 years can show early wear if used town/towing)
- Turbo and boost behaviour — watch for loss of power, smoke or whistling on acceleration
- Confirm 2WD or AWD spec and check driveshaft/outer CV joints and differential service if AWD
