Either way the drivetrain is more complex than a standard diesel — expect higher dealer service costs, DPF/EGR/AdBlue systems to check, and either a 48V battery or a high‑voltage traction battery that you should verify. Most GLEs of this generation also use Mercedes’ 9‑speed automatic (9G‑Tronic) and commonly have optional air suspension, which adds comfort but is an extra thing to inspect.
