Could suit you if…
- You have convenient, regular charging at home, work or nearby: an electric car could fit your day-to-day routine.
- You want practical access for everyday shopping and bags: the hatchback opening may suit your routine. Check actual boot space.
- You would prefer less gear changing in traffic: the recorded automatic transmission may suit. Try how this exact gearbox behaves on a test drive.
Think twice if…
- You need room for several children or extra passengers: the seat count is not recorded. Confirm this exact version's seats and child-seat fit; do not assume from the model name.
- You often travel far with little time to stop: check the battery's condition, realistic winter range and charging speed for this exact version.
This is general guidance about this type of car and your needs — not an inspection or approval of this individual car.
The 2022 Leaf is an automatic electric hatch offered with different battery sizes (commonly 40 kWh and a larger 62 kWh 'e+' option) — range and charging behaviour depend on which you have. It uses a single‑speed drive and typically a CHAdeMO DC fast‑charge inlet (not CCS), so check local fast‑charger compatibility or whether an adapter is available; also verify remaining cover under Nissan’s battery warranty and any software updates. EVs have fewer routine service items, but watch the 12V battery and thermal/cooling system history which affect long‑term battery health.
- Battery state‑of‑health report showing remaining capacity (%) and any capacity loss
- Which DC charge inlet is fitted (CHAdeMO) and evidence you can access suitable public fast chargers or an adapter
- History of rapid‑charging frequency (lots of fast charging can affect degradation)
- Condition and operation of the 12V auxiliary battery and charging system
- Underbody and coolant lines for signs of leaks or impact damage around the battery area
