The 2025 Octavia diesel will be a modern Euro 6 engine with a DPF and (on 2.0 TDI variants) an AdBlue system — both keep emissions down but do best with regular longer runs to allow proper regeneration. As a manual it avoids dual-clutch issues and is cheaper to maintain than many automatics, but watch clutch wear if used in heavy urban stop‑start traffic. The Octavia remains a very practical hatch/saloon with a large boot and easy parts availability around Ireland.
