This is the fourth‑generation Prius (introduced 2016) with Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive and an e‑CVT automatic — not a plug‑in. Most 2017 UK/IE cars use a nickel‑metal hydride traction battery (the plug‑in variant is different), and Toyota dealers can run battery health checks; a failing hybrid battery is an expensive replacement. There’s no diesel/DPF to worry about, but check for inverter coolant issues and the usual wear items on a nine‑year‑old car.
