Could suit you if…
- You have convenient, regular charging at home, work or nearby: an electric car could fit your day-to-day routine.
- You prefer a higher seating position: this SUV/crossover type may suit. Try getting in and out; the body shape alone does not prove extra seats or four-wheel drive.
- You would prefer less gear changing in traffic: the recorded automatic transmission may suit. Try how this exact gearbox behaves on a test drive.
Think twice if…
- You need room for several children or extra passengers: the seat count is not recorded. Confirm this exact version's seats and child-seat fit; do not assume from the model name.
- You often travel far with little time to stop: check the battery's condition, realistic winter range and charging speed for this exact version.
This is general guidance about this type of car and your needs — not an inspection or approval of this individual car.
This is an all-electric VW with a single-speed automatic driveline and the typical VW ID battery warranty (usually around 8 years / 160,000 km). Real-world range will depend on whether the car has the smaller (~50–58 kWh) or larger (~77 kWh) pack; larger batteries accept faster DC charging and give noticeably better motorway range. VW issues software updates from time to time, so check that dealer/OTA updates and any recall work have been completed.
- Battery state-of-health / range report — ask for a measured SOH and compare real-world range on a 20–80% test run if possible.
- CCS charging port and cables: check for damage, that fast-charging actually negotiates at expected kW, and that home AC charging (on-board charger) works.
- 12V battery condition and any HV-system fault history (EVs frequently report 12V faults that stop startup); request a diagnostic scan for stored DTCs.
- Tyre and suspension wear — EVs are heavier, so check for uneven tyre wear and any sagging or noisy suspension components.
- Infotainment/software update history and any outstanding dealer software recalls — flaky software was an issue on earlier ID cars and updates often fix range/charging quirks.
